Editor's Note .004: Holiday Out of the Box
It's hard to believe the holidays are officially here. Many, myself included, began decking the halls the day after Halloween for the sole reason of extending the holidays for as long as possible. It is indeed the most wonderful time of the year, and we indeed need as much goodness as we can get.
At the same time it's high season for a different kind of pressure. The kind that has us all thinking about others and trying to justify how much we love and appreciate the people in our lives. Lovers, girlfriends, family, colleagues and let's not forget the local barista and delivery person. The overall expense is an added layer of stress that we all know too well.
It's a difficult feat but with some prioritization and creative thinking, it can be done. The key? Gifting out of the box.
If I've learned anything from my significant other, it's that trying, alone, is a gift, and it doesn't have to cost very much. From having a bubble bath ready after a long work day to handwritten cards when we're strapped for cash, there are thoughtful ways to make it count.
This month, we're excited to share gift ideas that focus on experiences. The in-real-life kind like planning a road trip with your best girl, attending a supper club, or initiating a phone-less catch up over a cup of hot cocoa. After all....
*If you're interested in sharing how you gift out of the box, please share in the the comments below. We'll share your ideas and stories in a feature post this month!
All the Holiday Cheers,
